Muskoka Long-time grasshopper Eric Fernando is not resting on his laurels. Last weekend saw Eric finish as the top age-grouper at the competitive Muskoka Triathlon, and in so doing also garnered a ticket to IMC. Solid across the board, Eric used a 2nd fastest bike split (by 2 seconds) and a personal best run to finish top amateur. The next 2 weeks will see Eric taking a rare break from racing----consider that Eric races some twenty times from May to August! New Balance 1/2 IM in Washington Alyson Littman of Seattle showed she is on track for a strong performance at IMUSA, after finishing in a personal best time of 4hr53min at the NB 1/2 IM in beautiful Victoria, British Columbia. On a warm day, Alyson finished under 5hrs for the first time, while also placing a personal best 4th overall female in what was a very strong field. Alyson's improvement all came on the bike, although her identical to the previous year run split also looks stronger given the warm conditions that presented themselves. It should come as no surprise that both Eric and Alyson use computrainers in conjunction with m2's program. Once again, it is the kind of training one does that matters most, as opposed to how much training.
